Las Vegas Jewelry Trends: Enamel Continues to Evolve

Jul 01, 2023

Independent designers revive the art of enamel in creative applications of both vitreous glass (hard/hot) enamel and epoxy resin (soft/cold) enamel. All types have become desirable to jewelry enthusiasts. Motifs run the gamut in both hard and soft enameling and reference antique jewelry, 1960s pop art and futuristic designs. The feeling ranges from whimsical to elegant to meaningful. The profusion of color surfaces in vibrant brights, gentle pastels or a contrasting mix of both. It all depends on whether large gemstones take center stage or the motif is the heart of the enamel piece, highlighted by accent stones. Some designers, such as Erica Molinari, have learned the art and are enameling their own pieces — many of which of limited edition or one-of-a-kind. These are joyous jewels that every store should have in stock.
